Crystal – A Memory of the Water

Along shores where the waves have polished stones for countless years, you may sometimes discover something unusual.

A crystal.

Its long, smooth, gently curved form seems almost as though it was never born from stone at all. At its base, smaller crystals gather together, sparkling in the light like gemstones from a long-lost piece of jewellery.

Old tales say these crystals appear in places where two souls once grew so close that their love left a mark even upon the surface of the water.

The water slowly gathers the memory of those moments and, years later, returns them in the form of tiny crystals growing in the same place.

That is why no two crystals are ever exactly alike.

When you first take one into your hand, you feel only the coolness and weight of the stone. But as your fingers glide across its smooth surface, the smaller crystals at its base slowly begin to glow.

Their light sparkles softly between your fingers.

The longer you hold it, the warmer it becomes. Its cold surface slowly takes on the warmth of your body.

After a while, it becomes difficult to tell whether the Crystal has taken your warmth… or whether you have begun to feel its own.

Its touch becomes increasingly familiar. It does not hurry or demand anything. It simply rests against your hand, as though after all this time it has finally found again the closeness from which it was once born.

And when you finally draw it closer, it feels as though you are holding more than just a crystal.

As though you have been entrusted with a small piece of someone else’s love.
