Shadow Wolf is a werewolf born beneath a dark, moonless sky, dwelling on the boundary between moonlight and the realm of shadows. He is neither fully human nor entirely beast. Nothing can restrain his bloodlust. He wraps his victim in the embrace of his heated body before allowing the darkness to claim them.
He is most dangerous on the darkest nights, when only the stars illuminate the sky. On such nights, the lord of shadows longs to consume everything and make it his own. There is no conscience or love here – only the untamed savagery of wolf blood as his claws tighten around your waist and you feel his warm breath against your neck.
By then, you already know there is no escape. Your body tenses as you feel him slowly taking control. You, too, become trapped between two worlds as you surrender to pleasure and let ecstasy flow through your entire body.
In the end, he leaves you alive, your legs trembling and your mind filled with the desire to crave him again and again.
Such is Shadow Wolf, the wolf of shadows. You can never know who he truly is or where he may be hiding.

Category: Cursed noble shadow-being / ancient demonic predator
Danger Level: Lethal
Habitat: The ruins of forgotten castles and fortresses, crumbling manor houses hidden deep within ancient forests, and abandoned parks on the outskirts of cities. It emerges from the darkness only on moonless nights.
Some beings are more than ordinary monsters. Some were once human: nobles, knights, lords or princes who, in a moment of weakness or final desperation, formed a connection with something no mortal should ever have touched.
The wolf of shadows is one of them.
Around almost any ancient fortress ruin, abandoned castle or crumbling manor hidden deep within a forest, stories are told of a similar creature: a former nobleman who was either struck by a curse or willingly sold his own soul.
According to some legends, the members of the noble house pledged their loyalty to the ancient spirits of the forest. Other tales claim that the family entered into a pact with an unknown shadow-being that promised them victory, long life and power.
As long as they honoured the agreement, their lands prospered and their enemies avoided their domain. Over time, however, the family forgot its promise. The wolfskins were hidden away, the ancient rituals were forbidden, and the old alliance was dismissed as superstition.
Then the former blessing became a curse.
The final lord of the castle or fortress often understood the sins of his ancestors only when his estate began to collapse around him. His family died out, his servants fled, and his walls were consumed by war, fire or disease.
Faced with death, he turned to the darkness for help.
He asked for eternal life, inhuman strength and the restoration of his lost power. The Shadows heard him.
They granted his wish.
In return, however, they took his soul.
Since then, he has not merely transformed into a wolf. He is the shadow itself, assuming the shape of a wolf whenever the moon disappears from the sky.
Perhaps this is why almost identical stories about him can be found in distant lands. It may always be the same creature, wandering from one ruin to another. Or perhaps every betrayed alliance and every fallen noble house gives birth to another wolf of shadows.
No one knows the answer.
On moonless nights, he emerges from the ruins. He does not howl, nor does he charge after his victim. He walks slowly and with dignity, as though he were still moving through the halls of his own castle or the corridors of his former fortress.
The starlight barely touches his black fur. His movements are both bestial and refined, as though the predator within him still remembers the rank he once held as a man.
His eyes, however, reveal his true nature.
It is not the gaze of a wild animal. His eyes are far too human: deep, dark and hungry. Within them dwell the intelligence of a fallen nobleman and the instinct of an ancient predator.
When he finds you, he does not attack immediately.
He stops in front of you and watches.
Even in the cold night, you can feel the heat radiating from his body. The air thickens around you, the sounds of the ruins fall silent, and it seems as though the darkness itself has closed every path of escape.
Then he steps closer.
One clawed hand slowly closes around your waist. He does not wound you but draws you firmly against him. A finger of his other hand moves along your neck, precisely where your pulse beats beneath the skin.
His hot breath touches your ear. He whispers something in an ancient, forgotten language that your mind cannot understand.
Your body, however, does.
He does not force you at once. His presence offers you a choice: flee while you are still able, or take a single step toward him.
Those who remain are slowly drawn under his influence.
You feel clear thought fading beneath his dark, velvet presence. Your body tenses, but you can no longer tell whether you truly want to move away from him or come even closer.
Every touch, every heated breath and every deep, growling sound draws you further into that sweet, dark intoxication where the boundary between fear and pleasure slowly begins to disappear.
Many believe that the wolf of shadows kills those he chooses.
That is only partly true.
The wolf of shadows rarely takes the lives of his victims. He leaves something far more permanent within them.
He releases them alive: trembling, breathless and strangely alien within their own bodies, but alive. From that moment onward, they feel his call on every moonless night.
Beneath their skin.
In the depths of their thoughts.
Within the memory of their bodies.
They begin to long for him again, even when they are ashamed of that desire or hate themselves for it. Something of the wolf of shadows remains inside them, like a shadow that no light can ever fully drive away.
Around ancient fortresses and manor houses, people say that objects once belonging to the cursed nobles still lie scattered among the ruins. Rusted signet rings, coats of arms decorated with wolves’ heads, broken sword hilts and amulets carved from black stone preserve the memory of forgotten families.
No one knows for certain which of these objects truly belonged to a wolf of shadows.
Anyone who carries one away, however, may unknowingly invite the creature into their life.
At first, they hear only a faint scratching beneath the window. Later, footsteps begin to circle the house. Finally, on a star-filled, moonless night, three slow knocks sound upon the door.
According to the legends, by then it is already too late to return the stolen object.
The wolf of shadows is no ordinary howling werewolf. He is not a mindless beast driven mad by hunger, but a silent, elegant and merciless hunter. He knows that on the darkest nights, human beings are vulnerable in more than just the physical sense.
Deep within their souls, the places they carefully hide during the day begin to open.
And that is precisely what the wolf of shadows hunts: the part of the human soul that light can never reach.
