Temple Cat – The Relic Buried Beneath the Sand

Sometimes the desert does not hide gold.

It hides something older. Something that has waited for centuries for someone to finally touch it.

From the depths of crumbling pyramids and forgotten sanctuaries, cat-shaped relics are occasionally uncovered. At first glance, they seem to be nothing more than ornate statues: sitting calmly, watching, perfectly still.

And yet there is something about them that makes your hand reluctant to pull away.

As though they were never carved from stone at all, but simply frozen in some ancient moment – patiently waiting ever since for someone brave enough to come close.

At first, you feel only the coolness of stone.

Then, slowly and almost imperceptibly, it begins to warm beneath your touch. Its surface seems to respond: softening for a moment before becoming firm again, as though something deep within has slowly begun to breathe.

A strange, silent tension radiates from its stillness.

It becomes increasingly difficult to tell whether you are still simply holding the relic, or whether your body has already begun to respond to it. Your hand instinctively tightens around its form as the warmth of your body slowly seeps into the cold surface.

The Temple Cat does not chase you.

It simply waits for you to keep caressing it. To lean closer. To let it feel your warmth where there was once only cold stone.

And when that happens, its centuries-old stillness seems to break for just a moment.

You cannot say exactly when the stone became something that was no longer merely an object.

You only know that something has begun to touch you back.
